Hollywood Hills cocktail

Looking to make some green cocktails for St. Patrick’s Day? Step away from the green food coloring! You can achieve fresh tasting and eye-pleasing green libations with herbs, vegetables, liqueurs—even matcha tea. Here are a few recipes to try.

Basil Smash

Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ oz. London Dry gin
  • Bunch of fresh basil
  • ¾ oz. Fresh lemon juice
  • 1/3 oz. Agave syrup
  • Dash extra virgin olive oil
  • Bunch of fresh basil

Instructions

  • Place basil and lemon into a cocktail shaker.
  • Gently muddle the lemon and. Add agave syrup, olive oil and gin and top up with ice.
  • Shake vigorously.
  • Fine strain into a rocks glass.
  • Add ice and garnish with a sprig of basil.

Wet Money Cocktail

Ingredients

  • 1 oz. Blanco tequila (such as Espolon)
  • 1 oz. White rum (such as Thrasher's)
  • ¼ oz. Blue Curaçao
  • ½ oz. Lemon juice
  • 1 ½ oz. Passion fruit juice
  • 2 droppers Salt water*

Instructions

  • Combine all the ingredients in a shaker with ice.
  • Shake and strain into a Tiki mug or a tall Collins glass with crushed ice.
  • *A bit of salt can boost flavors in a cocktail.

110 Shades of Aspen

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 oz. Martini Bianco
  • 1 oz. Gin
  • 1 oz. Fresh lime juice
  • 1/3 oz. Demerara sugar syrup
  • 1 handful Basil
  • 1 Cucumber slice

Instructions

  • Muddle the cucumber and basil in a shaker.
  • Add remaining ingredients and dry shake.
  • Add ice and shake again.
  • Double strain into coupe glass.
  • Garnish with a dried Aspen leaf (if available) or basil leaf.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Reposado tequila (such as Lunazul)
  • 1 ½ oz. Cucumber-apple purée
  • 1 oz. Jalapeño simple syrup
  • ½ oz. Lime juice

Instructions

  • Combine ingredients and shake.
  • Pour into glass with ice.
  • Garnish with salt and pepper on top of a lime wheel.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Pisco
  • ¾ oz. Lime juice
  • ¾ oz. Matcha tea
  • 1 Egg white
  • Splash of bitters

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
  • Shake well to mix.
  • Pour mixture over ice into a highball glass.
  • Garnish with a mint sprig.
